Seven professions approved for cross-border work in ASEAN Community 2015

Director-General Srirat Rastapana of Thailand's Department of Trade Negotiations (DTN) is confident that the establishment of the ASEAN Community in 2015 will help attract more foreign investors to the country because of the flexibility in transfer of goods, labour and capitals and the reduction of tariff barriers among members.

He explained further that ASEAN governments will work together to facilitate the business sector, ensuring entrepreneurs and investors that they will have more financial flexibility with a reduced operating cost.

Moreover, the community will endorse a unified qualification for workers in seven professions - engineers, doctors, nurses, explorers, accountants, dentists and architects - enabling them to register for work in all ASEAN states freely.
